Social Care Accolades Wales 2011 – ‘Supporting Effective Interventions’ - June 23rd 2011

Gwynedd Council’s Children and Supporting Families Service was awarded a Social Care Accolade 2011 in the category of “Supporting effective interventions with children and families.”  This prestigious award was presented to Dafydd Paul on behalf of Gwynedd Council.  In presenting the Deputy Minister Gwenda Thomas AM congratulated Gwynedd on their work and indicated her wish that this was implemented across Wales.

At the ceremony at Cardiff’s City Hall, representatives of Children and Families Service and Bruce Thornton celebrated the award that recognised the work in its development and its implementation in practice.  The project team included Dafydd Paul, Nia Price and Bruce Thornton and were joined by Heidi Rylance and Mel Panther (Team Managers), Sharron Carter (Senior Manager) and Marian Parry Hughes, Head of Service. 

Dafydd Paul expressed the project team’s appreciation of Marian Parry Hughes’ support in encouraging innovation in practice in this challenging area.

As part of the Accolades, a series of practice sharing conferences were arranged in Wales.  The Risk Model was presented to the Accolades ‘Best Practice Sharing Event’ in North Wales on the 12th of October 2011 and in Cardiff on the 20th of October 2012.
